Who and what is lert?
Lert is a private company providing emergency alerts. The first alert was sent Nov 2012.
It was, and still is, the most advance Txt alert service in New Zealand.
The idea was presented to two different governments way before it took it's current form, but both of them said no thanks. We believed the public deserved much better and so built the service anyway.
We alert you to more than just Civil Defence situations, in fact we have 15 or so different types of alerts.
We have our own Meteorolgical Technician, marketer, programmer and networking facilitator and can provide a 24/7 service (and have done for tsunami alerts, several storms and the Kaikoura Quake). Normally we monitor during the night, much like Civil Defence. If something happens though, it's all hands to the pump.
Information is provided from hundred of "official" sources, plus we have thousands of our members providing exclusive information. Over the years member information has actually proved much faster and more accurates than many mainstream sources.
We are always planning for the future, and currently have an App in final stages of development,we're designing NZ's first Earthquake Early Warning System (EEWS) and have other services and products planned, all focused on your personal safety and run through the App.
We continually strive to advance the service for your benefit and ultimate safety. Our alert service was the first of it's type in NZ and is still the most advanced and comprehensive alert service available.

Stuart controls the daily operations and is also responsible for the Face book profile. He is a qualified Meteorological Technician and is passionate about the weather and also Seismicity. He was the initiator of the early earthquake warning system we are designing

No relation to Stuart, Derek has built a very solid platform for our service. In the 5 years of operation we have only been offline for 1 hour due to his software. That's an incredible .0001%. We know we can rely on the same robustness for the App.

Ashley has an incredible ability when it comes to networking with people and finding information. We can ask him to find something and he will have an answer within 24hrs. We would not have made the progress we have, without him.
Programmer
Ahmad was discovered by Ashley, and is designing our learning algorithm for the EEWS (Earthquake Early Warning System.) The system will enable warnings from a few seconds to well over a minute, depending on a person's position relative to an earthquake epicenter
Lert Info has been designed to provide safety alerts for the public. It is a private company that gets no Government funding.
