All of the Marlborough District and parts of Nelson have moved to a Restricted fire season as of 8am on Thursday the 12th of December 2024.
All Department of Conservation (PCL) land is already and will remain in a Restricted season.
A very wet spring and start to the summer has resulted in extreme fuel loadings throughout the District and although some areas are still showing green patches we are all well aware of how quick the District can dry out after a period.
