 HEAVY SNOW RISK FOR LATER SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY The latest model guidance has seen a significant uptick in moisture. When this moisture mingles with colder air, snow amounts increase.

There will be road disruptions from Burkes Pass, to Haast. Lindis will be closed early during this event as this road looks as though it will be particularly hard hit with 20cm. We'll send Txt Road alerts when this happen - www.road.let.info
Plan ahead and take a survival bag including blanket, gloves, food bars, torch, a charged powerbank or at least, start the journey with a fully charged phone. Tell people your plans just in case.
Snow level will be to about 400m with heaviest snowfall above 500m.
Snow accumulations vary - Lake Tekapo 10 to 20cm and Twizel 4 to 8cm and Mount Cook 15cm+
A couple of skifields could see significant amounts of 30 to 50cm .
Remember, Mother Nature is in control here and things could get worse or not be as bad as forecast.
